I visited a golf store this last week for the first time in 2 years. If I couldn't afford anything there 3 years ago I surely couldn't now.
No putters under $200, no drivers under $500, only Wilson iron sets under $800 with $1200 being the norm.
It seems to be a good time for D2C commerce for golf. The last 3 boxes of golf balls that I've purchased didn't go through a golf store (1 purchased through Costco, 2 through Amazon) and I've been forth coming about what else I've purchased. I'm not sure how Hogan Golf is doing, but they've been out there awhile now using this model. As long as the return policy is good I'm in. I know enough about what I like to make a "good call" most of the time.
I've played clones before...I may play them again.
