Pure Silk LPGA Classic Preview, Pairings, and More

It is time to start the 2017 LPGA season. With 35 tournaments on the schedule (including the Solheim Cup), more prize money, and more television coverage, the 2017 season promises to be the biggest and best ever.

The season will open in the Bahamas once again this year with the playing of the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic.

I think Lexi shot 61 and Brittney shot 64/65. The good thing was there was a lot of Americans on the leader board for a change. Gerina Piller also shot 65.

Wow everyone seemed to light it up today. Stacey Lewis and Nellie Korda (Jessica's Sister) both shot 63's. Lewis and Lexi are co leaders at -23 and Gerina is one back with Brittany two back. Quite the shoot out today. Those greens seemed to be perfect.

The playoff was interesting. Brittany's drive being out past Lexi's gave her a shorter/higher shot and she was able to hold the green. Lexi had to hit a bullet to get there and ran it off the back. Not used to seeing Lexi out-distanced.

Lexi hit a hybrid off the tee trying to make sure she got it in the fairway. She however pulled it and her lie was not a good one and she had to hit a shot she seemed uncomfortable with. This was an exciting back nine and it was nice that it was just an American shoot out as well. Nelly Korda played outstanding in her debut.
