Got the organic chicken drumstick from Costco.
Not sure if we want to curry or soy sauce it with dried shitake mushroom and tofu. Personally I'd fry them adding salt and pepper or sauce at the end but my wife wants a healthier way to cook it this time. She also made sourdough bread, and I can make some steamed rice after we decided the method of cooking it.
I was thinking of getting the rib strip beef and stew it, again veto by my wife for having too much red meat already for the week.
Update, so this batch will be stewed in sweet soy sauce with shitake, and spices, rock sugar dark and light soy sauce, half an onion, fresh ginger slices. It'll be great over steamed rice which I will prepare in the P.M. after the chicken is done. I want that thick naturally cooked down sauce, not artificially enhanced by thickener. rock sugar and cooking wine should help.
