scotts33 I'm hankering for some good ole US Army SOS. Of course, it may taste like crap now but when I was 19 it was damn good.
You can probably find some canned chipped beef rations from 1949 on bay. 😋
Maybe it was called "spiced beef." I think the Army called the rations "C" rations, the AF called them "K" rations and I am sure the Navy had a version but I am sure it was all the same. It looked and smelled like Alpo dog food but it did taste OK since that was all you had. I still have one of the P38 can openers that came with each meal.
