sdandrea1 DonM best bet is a rope fence. I bought and shortened the white plastic electric tape fence poles, and strung rope just off the ground and again a few inches higher. We live on a golf course with a strict HOA. But, thanks, Don!
DonM sdandrea1 Then you can harass them with the dog, or live with it. Can you get away with firing off Roman candles at them? They work pretty well.
sdandrea1 DonM Then you can harass them with the dog, or live with it. I know. When we're be back in October, we'll be here for 6 months, so I'm hoping the repeated harassment might work and it's a good run/romp for Sophie. I'm also hoping the HOA might remove them if they're crapping on the neighbors patio's and the green.
DonM Ultimately I used these. No HOA to answer to though. https://www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.com/animal/NWS15MMBB.html
Eguller sdandrea1 the repeated harassment might work and it's a good run/romp for Sophie. There is your answer - Sophie. Border Collie worked at our course years ago. We need the dog again. 🤨
DonM Maybe propose the rope fence to the HOA as a limited time test. They should be interested in finding something that works.
sdandrea1 DonM Are you allowed to put in a short rabbit fence by your patio? Anything will help. Zero fencing allowed on golf course lots. I might shoot one with my pellet rifle and leave the body down near the pond. 🤬
garyt1957 Subsonic is that how that works? I had no idea. Yea, if you can get close enough to put a collar on them you might as well just wring their neck and be done with it
Subsonic garyt1957 yeah. When the collar goes over the fence the collar gives the dog a touch of old sparky.
Par4QC There is a repellant that can be sprayed on the yard. Geese eat a lot of grass per day, and after they eat from this sprayed grass, they get bad heartburn, without causing injury. They might come back again, but soon learn to stay out.
Par4QC backinit But, geese only eat up about 2# of grass/day. That, might 'eat up' just a tad more. 🤣
