rsvman2 if you thought it was important to get everybody to do something, how would you go about doing that? I can't think of a single thing that everybody would go do if you just asked politely.
You are right, people would not listen. No different than telling people to lose weight or stop smoking or drinking to be healthier. In terms of how to get the message across, my opinion is that I know it would be impossible to convince everyone, so that wouldn't be my goal. Considering we are dealing with something that could have bad side effects, I certainly would not resort to any negative tactics (psychological tactics of fear, guilt and shame), as well as threatening anyone's freedoms or livelihoods.
Overall, I agree that there doesn't need to be an ulterior motive in place, it just seems stupid for lack of a better word, that the governments would go through all this trouble, just to get people jabbed. From a common sense perspective, it makes no sense considering all the collateral damage that happened and could've been foreseen. Up until now, the governments have left us alone to partake in life threatening activities - drinking, smoking, eating too much, or not forcing people to get the flu jab etc., and now they decide to intervene? So essentially, everything that was done - mandates, passports, coercion, guilting, shaming etc was all done to convince a small minority of people to get jabbed (the vaccine hesitant) if you will. It was always known that a % of people would get jabbed if you ask nice and there was a %of people that would never get jabbed no matter what. It was only this middle group of hesitants that you were trying to convince. Again, something just seems wrong to go through all that trouble with all the collateral damage that effects everyone, in order to get these people jabbed. It just makes no sense whatsoever to me and it never will. If there were no chance of side effects and if the vaccine was sterilizing or almost sterilizing, and if the fatality rate was much higher, then I would understand - but it's not. I guess the only thing that would make sense to me is that something else has to be going on in my mind to make sense of things.
