Accidently had a Golf Pride MCC Plus 4 Mid Size grip installed on a driver. Have always played standard size grips. I wear a M/L glove and my hand measures just a hair over 7.5" (long palm / shorter fingers) which according to Golf Pride puts me right in between standard and mid size. Going to give it a try tomorrow and see how it goes.
I suffer from chronic elbow problems and maybe a larger grip might work for me. Don't seem to mind the feel of the swing weight change holding the club (66 gram compared to 52 gram). Anyone play mid size and what's you experience with them?
The common theme you hear is larger grips may contribute to a fade and a smaller grip could induce more hand action and contribute to a hook.
The GP MCC Plus 4 grip has a larger profile in the lower portion simulating 4 wraps of tape. And I believe the mid size adds the feel of another 4 wraps throughout the whole grip. My fingers just barley touch my thumb pad when holding the grip.
Maybe my spraying golf ball pattern will lessen with this larger grip. One can only hope I suppose.
