I have played a TE Exotic CB4 4 wood for most of the last 8 years. I got it used ($24!) and it has never left my bag for other than a periodic flirtation. It got me my albatross in '16, and it has been the most consistent club in my bag through 3 shafts. But it has gotten shorter over the last few years [note: it certainly isn't me getting older], and I could use a few extra yards on a few holes if I am going to stay at the current tees (6300 y).
I have hit and loved several 3 woods - Srixon F45, SIM Max, Epic, Epic Speed - but all launched just too low to be useful on anything but rock hard ground. A local guy was selling a Srixon F85 15* 3 wood head for $50, so I figured why not. Put in an Aldila DVS 65R, and so far I am in love. It is longer than the CB4, launches a little lower but runs out. Monday I had 250 downhill to a par 5, and was able to get it to 3 feet for an eagle. The CB4 would not have gotten me there. I am also able to set up and cut it when i come to a long (190-200 yard) par 3, which we usually have 1 or 2 on my course, depending on set up.
These are cheap and great options if anyone is looking for a 3. I am now trying to find a 5, but those are hard to find
