Been an interesting start.
Friday July 1 started walking. Until today, I’ve averaged a min of 2.2 miles per day and may get about 2.5 in tonight. I didn’t get it in this morning as I e got a tone going on to get ready for tomorrow’s trip. More on that at another time.
Also, July 1, I jumped on a kettlebell workout. Work out was fine but ….. it left me more sore than expected in the lower back (L4/L5) issues. In short, I did too much too soon and ruined my Sat round of golf as I could not get my back loose.
Evening of July 2, got my info from over on another forum where I was selected to test out the GOLFFOREVER swing trainer and app. This system is more about a golf specific conditioning program than actual changing of your golf swing. In short, loving it so far.
July 4, got in a holiday round. With back specific warm ups and workouts via the GOLFFOREVER program, no issues.
July 5, golf lesson. Best one I’ve gotten and it’s not close.
Move to Wed. Started off walking 18 playing my my father. 106F real feel with 101F real feel in the shade. I was also fasting. Needless to say, I had issues in which I don’t do that again. I had to hop in my fathers cart and couldn’t finish and this is someone that doesn’t really have issues with heat.
Fridays round with my son was rained out. Sundays round was a good one.
I’ve had a few physical setbacks the first week but by in large, I’m in better shape now than I was 10-12 days ago.
Moving forward, I won’t typically play that much golf but I do intend to keep the workouts going.
