I downloaded one today just because I was reading that the pga tour average was 76 bpm. I had no idea what mine was. Putted tonite using it. Very cool.

Familiar with the old(er) publication of "Tour Tempo" as it pertained to full-swing. Interesting how all of the consistently good players (at least back then) were very similar. And then Matsuyama came along and shot that theory all to hell.... You could make dinner at the beginning of his backswing and be finished by impact.

If you need the app to help your putting. you have some more serious issue there.
Do you need an app to aid you to throw a basket ball or to walk across the street ?

If you treat this app as a toy, just wish to try something new.... fine,
I have friend whose easy tempo for golf swing match another's fastest tempo for his golf swing...... trying to change the natural tempo is not easy.

My putting is fine, I found the article to be something I never thought about. I play a lot and see a lot of horseshit putting strokes.

Since I had no idea what the PGA tour average of 76 beats felt like, I figured I'd check it out. Free app too btw, I happened to be 77 bpm which was cool to find.

Now I can delete it.

They also putt on a different putting surface than the average golf courses offer to us mortals.

Do you change anything according to the condition of the greens ?
Can't putt like a robot on any green , the only thing that'll be consistent will be your stroke and nothing else.

It's back and to the ball in that 77 bpm. Length of swing. Think of someone chipping. Short chip, like a short putt you don't want that short stabby stroke. You want to go back and then to the ball in rhythm...Not slow back and then a quick uncoordinated lunge back to the strike.

Download one and try it. I tried "Metronome Beats" for Android from the Google play store....it's free and stupid easy to just use the thumb wheel to set it to 76.

Okay, I'll take a look at the app when I'm freed up. Never say never with a new idea.

I'm suspecting that I won't like it because, I'm paying more attention to the through line instead of the back and to the golf ball thing.
