pike51 I've stripped heads with the acid. No problem. But, I never used it on brass, which is a different animal. It will remove the chrome(in most cases), but the jury is still out on what it will do to the brass. Brass= copper+ zinc. Brass is somewhat porous. I'll not try it.
Walterjn Chrome does NOT come off easily.
It does, in most cases, with the acid. But, chrome also has a 'base' which adheres it to the metal(not all). Depending on that base, you would still need to blast the heads.
I have a set of Wishon heads that I 'tried' to strip. No idea what they used, but the chrome did not all dissolve, and I could not get everything blasted away. They've been in a box for about 5 yrs. now. Waiting. 😉
