G400 Max IS the holy grail. Like someone else mentioned though, it is a heavy head. Last weekend I hit it with a Paderson Velocity amd hit everything long and straight. I was hoping for more speed but it’s the weight. I then hit a Stealth Plus with a Tour Ad DI6 and it was so much lighter. Picked up 3-4 mph in ball speed with limited time to dial the it. Didn’t have the same shaft either but would love to hit the Velocity is the lighter head.

I prefer the weight & heft of the G400 MAX, I've tried a few of the light & super light head/combos years ago and I was wilder and more all over the place with them than I usually am. I like being able to feel (sense) where the clubhead is & I don't care if it costs me a few mph in swing speed, I'll take quality shot results over quantity (yards) every time.

G400 MAX with a 44-1/4" UST V2 "r" works nicely for this 70yr old, but YMMV. The stock Alta shaft just didn't feel right to me. Also, wasn't worth the time & effort to go back & edit this for 3rd person content 😁

I’ve thought about cutting down my ping tour 65 gm shaft to play at 44.5” to minimize the heavy feel. I think it plays at 45”. I end up choking way down anyways. I love the sound and feel of the g400 max better than my others. I have the g425 max as well. It’s loud and the Alta still sucks for me in that too.

I used the Mav Max for play today and it held up nicely and will make the bag
for the next time I play. However, I may use a different shaft just for grins. I need
to try it with a slightly softer, lighter shaft for comparison. Nice sound/feel and
good distance today. The experiment continues. 🏌

I have several shafts for my Max but the favourite is an Aldila VS proto 70 at 45.5 inches. Longer than most everything I have tried over the years.

You must have me confused with a younger Eguller .... LOL Right now, I'm playing a GD AD DI R1 flex.
Thanks, but those would be too much for my aging swing at this point. A few years back, they would have
been too soft. 😟

For now, I'm going to rework the Mav Max, shaft & weight wise, to see if it can dethrone the G400 Max.

The G400 is still King of the Hill for the time being, but it's looking over its shoulder. 🤔

These modern drivers are all fantastic. Get the right shaft and loft and on any given day, 1 will emerge over the other.

I still love my Taylor Made TM6.
Have one in 12* and one in 10.5*
The 12* has the Red Ventus shaft in regular flex. It was ordered with the optional Fujikura Pro 2.0 regular flex shaft which I still have.
The 10.5* is sporting a new UST V2 regular flex.
Only drivers I'm using although I have a Wishon 959 OL at 10.5* with a UST V2 shaft in regular flex, a new Krank F11XX (hot one) in 10.5+ with the Fujikura Regular Flex shaft that's never been on a course, and last but not least a older nearTour Swing Infringer 10.5* in an Accra M3 shaft in excellent condition.
Being 74 this year I'll probably end up selling the Hot Wishon, the Tour Swing Infringer and the new Krank.
