Graphite wedge shafts

I’ve made the decision to put graphite shafts in my irons. I’m going with the recoil 660.
My next question is for people who play graphite iron shafts what do you do for your wedges? Use the same shaft, or go heavier? Stay with steel? Or?
Any suggestions/experience will help

I asked the same thing in that other thread....I switched to graphite in my wedges a year or two ago, and struggled. Scotts33's comment about having "the ability to wait for it" probably describes my problem!! Since that thread last week, I went back to steel (w/ sensicore) in my wedges and have been chipping and pitching MUCH better. I notice that I have a lot more feel for the shot than I've had with graphite. I should add though that I was using only 75 gram
graphite, so maybe maybe that wasn't heavy enough. As always, YMMV. Good luck!

That's an interesting question.
I play a 67g shaft and I have made up wedges with it. The jury is out. It's pretty good on full swings but sometimes it feels too light around the green.
On one, i've added a strip of half-gram per inch lead tape to the full length of the shaft. So far, I like it.
Otherwise, I have two Cally wedges that came with heavier OEM graphite shafts. I love both of those. One is a Fuji 85T wedge shaft, and the other is some PX thing. Both test out very soft.

So I think the answer for me is a heavier but not stiffer graphite shaft. And maybe the lead tape will do the same thing.

I use the SK Fiber stiff 95 and 100s in my irons and 100 XS tipped to 8 iron in my wedges. I may be switching to XCaliber 95 and 105 S and 105 XS in the wedges.

I do like steel only in my higher loft wedges.
AW/GW, I might sometimes use graphite.

The lighter the shaft the more the golfer has to have the ability to "wait for it". If one rushes from the top is death for any shot. Lighter shafts for quick tempo, quick transition golfers isn't a good thing.

I have no idea, but..... he's more likely to chop off a cheap x-flex graphite shaft and stuff it in there. 🤔

Been all graphite throughout the bag for years due to elbow issues. Never looked back. Been using an Odyssey Stroke Lab putter for awhile as well which has a graphite shaft with a steel lower part.

Eguller He'd have to steal that. He doesn't own any, and they cost more than $12. 😆

Eguller Couldn’t tell you. These are shorties with DTG kids heads on them for my 5, 7, 9 y/o’s. Haven’t had em out to Mini Golf yet, but hoping to if we get any decent weather

1/4, 1/2, 3/4 shots various wedge techniques open face, hooded etc require "feel" of head and shaft.

Of course for many some of this goes away when you carry 4 wedges. 😉

I’ve got issues with my wrists and elbows so graphite is must have. Currently play the 105 xcaliber rapid taper in my irons and SK fiber 120 in my wedges. I will likely switch over to the xcaliber 110 spin shaft when it comes out. If I have to I’ll add some weight to them to make ‘em work.
