Matt Damon should be the guy as he doesn't do Jason Bourne anymore and he was very good being Jason Bourne.

I hate when movie franchises continually change the face of the main character. The franchise loses credibility when it happens so often, imo.

Release Donald Trump

Lol. You're just trolling now. Sure, I'll bite. Trump would only talk trash and insult everyone else, so as to make himself feel superior. Meanwhile there would be no action in the movie, because he'd just stand around saying, "It's going to be amazing!!!"

🙄🤔😤

How about Brad Pitt playing Bond.

      PIGDivot

      Why not ?
He has no chance of being the next President of the United States. Most people supported him during the primary said they will not vote for him.
He has done his job of stirring up the attention of the voters, perhaps motivate them enough to cast their vote. Best performance he has given.

For that, why not in the roll of 007 ? Traditional male chauvinists, superman, every teenage boy's wannabe ?
      He would be perfect.

Don't let his performance tricked you, he is actually smarter the he has portrait himself in the public.

      Umfaan

      IMHO,
Pitt could not hold shoes to the super male symbol of 007. He can't even hold shoes for the 007.
      Sorry, that's my 2 cents.

A lot of talk about it being offered to Idris Elba. If he hadn't already been in a trilogy with the Nolan Batman series, I think Christian Bale would have been great. Tom Hardy would be a great choice also.

Some excellent choices mentioned, or so I think anyway. The Tom Hardy one stands out to me as most different. He's been typecast as more of a roughneck in most roles I've watched of him, but I'm sure he's a versatile actor and could fit the more polished, sophisticated model on command.

I thought he was brilliant in Lawless, and although he definitely plays second fiddle to DiCaprio in "The Revenant" - it was nevertheless another solid support performance in what might be the best movie release in 2015.

The fact that his British doesn't exactly hurt his chances for the Bond role either.

      Aidan Turner
After he puts on 10 lb.s muscle .

sdandrea1 Pat Sajak - no contest

LMAO ... They wouldn't have enough makeup people on the set to keep that face plasticized.

I'd be down with Sajak, as long as Vanna White is part of the scantily-clad supporting cast.

(edited only to say the Vanna White I remember, although I'd say she's still pretty despite being only a year removed from her 60th birthday. My gosh - where has the time gone?! It seems just like yesterday that she was in a Playboy pictorial..)

Shifting the discussion back more on topic...

Matt Damon could pull it off. Brad Pitt could pull it off. Not sure either are interested, however, and not sure that either would be considered. Something tells me that the writers/producers would prefer to keep this role within the original British heritage. Sorry, Denzel. My hopes of you landing this role are fading.

Jude Law, maybe? He'd fit the role pretty well, although he lacks the tough guy image and has historically played white-collared roles. Still... has the looks and is fairly young.

Jason Statham? Not sure. Too many C-grade tough-guy flicks and quite frankly too much C-grade acting. Not saying some of his flicks aren't entertaining, but not quite James Bond level either.

Damian Lewis? One of my favorite British actors. Broke through with his epic portrayal of Lt. Dick Winters in Spielberg and Hanks' Band of Brothers series. Which then led to a very strong performance as the lead in Showtime's Homeland series, and is currently kicking some ass in the new Showtime series called "Billions", alongside the always-steady Paul Giamatti. But is the Bond genre ready for a ginger? And would Lewis even consider it? Two pertinent questions that remain unanswered.

BTW... Billions is a great series. If you have Showtime on your cable channel - check it out. Giamatti's wife in this series is seriously hot, and a bonafide sex freak. LOL... Maggie Siff - she's pretty hot. Excellent acting, excellent plot, through 6 episodes of the maiden season anyway.

      LogicalOne

I hadn't heard that but, if so, that would be great to see him back. I just googled and you're correct...he is back as Bourne. Jeremy Renner is among my least favorite actors so I didn't bother watching the one with him as Bourne.

Hugo Weaving, Gerard Butler, Clive Owen, Colin Farrell, Sean Bean, Liam Neeson, Hugh Laurie, and Terrance Stamp would make a good Bond.

I'm a HUGE Bond fan and think Daniel Craig is the best Bond and truest to the character from the books. His Character is complex and demonstrates the personality flaws one might expect from a secret service assassin.

I do like Sean Connery very much and he was a great Bond as well but all the previous Bond Characters were shallow , unbelievable and too Get Smart like in their spyness. I didn't like Roger Moore or Pierce in the role.

I hope Craig returns to do another 1 or 2 . He'll be a tough act to follow.

speaking of Sean Connery, The Rock was on last night and watched most of it, good film

The Rock was a solid flick, haven't seen it in years. Another personal favorite is The Great Train Robbery, released back in the late 70's.

Hardy would be a great Bond!

Love Craig, didn't love SPECTRE. Hard to beat Casino and Skyfall IMO
