oldgolfer they were all chipping with wedges, where im using a 7 or 8 iron. anybody know the loft & bounce of what they mostly use?
colej oldgolfer I would think most of them are using low bounce wedges but they’ll do custom grinds on the sole or toe.
azgreg oldgolfer It's the difference between pitching onto a green that roles an 8 on the stimpmeter vs one that rolls a 13 on the stimpmeter.
shokosugi I use a 54 deg for virtually all shots inside 120 yards and I'm certainly no professional lol. Maybe i should start chipping with my 7 or 8 iron🤔
scotts33 Hard to much spin, hop and jerk on a 7/8 iron on short pitches and agree with azgreg on the stimp of Augusta greens that's the difference on what pro's do now vs. years gone by.
Tinker scotts33 it’s all about the lie. Very few of us get Augusta conditions. If I have grass under the ball I go sw or lw.

scotts33 oldgolfer i have a set of forged blades, must be easily 30-40 yrs old. anybody interested? If I didn't have so many sets of classic irons now with some brands that no one has heard of I would be interested but am accused of being a hoarder now by my daughter. 😁
sdandrea1 scotts33 but am accused of being a hoarder now by my daughter. Your daughter could be correct..... 😂
