Good luck & pay attention. I use to love firm GP grips and 6.5 shafts and firm, fast conditions - I'm sure
that contributed to my thumb/wrist issues. Not a mudder at all and can't stand spongy fairways. YMMV.

I had an xray done and I go into this room after and the slide of 2 thumbs on the screen. He wasn't in the room yet. Now I had no idea really but I'm looking at them and I'm like, WTF?? He comes in and starts talking and I said, That's MY fuckin thumb???

I use jumbo grips and have tried really hard to take hands out of the swing over the past couple of years. Works for me. As long as I stick with overlap I don't get hand pain at all.

10 finger since I got back into golf 22 years ago. Haven’t looked back since.

Sneakylong I learned using a 10 finger grip and the juniors I teach, I start them with a 10 finger grip as well. When I try it now I can kill the ball but accuracy is an issue

Sneakylong just curious about the 10 finger grip. Do you keep the same amount of pressure with each hand?

Ive always used a interlock grip ( long before knowing Jack used it)😁

Yes. Both equal pressure and both involved in the takeaway. The feel I have in the downswing is the left is guiding or leading the right into impact and keeping the right from hitting too soon.

It’s as if the left is saying to the right wait on it, wait on it and then the right fires thru. Sometimes it goes according to plan and sometimes not. It’s just a feel. Who knows what the hell is actually happening. Lol

Sneakylong thanks, I might try it next time at the range. I'm lefthanded in just about everything besides golf and back in the day - batting, hockey.

I don’t think of anything dynamically. It’s all feel. I was describing what I feel. Your brain can only handle one task at a time.

Some days it’s tempo. Other days it’s keep my head still etc.. IMO the downswing happens too fast to think of anything really.

Everything is just an intent.
