So, aside from BDC, who's going to the Saudi League? A lot of chatter on this subject recently...

sdandrea1 Agree. Just because JT is taking it personally, doesnt guarantee a widespread sentiment among the players. There's probably quite a few guys who are jealous they didn't get the "invite".

Also, probably quite a few guys who were offered but turned it down; Then went back to LIV to say "OK, I'm in" only to be told "sorry, deal off the table and we have enough for now"...

There are certain "types" that like to speak in definite terms about why someone else is doing something, or how somebody else should be acting or living etc, without knowing the real reasons, especially when they disagree.
Pure speculation and BS. They also like to name drop, for full effect.
This is one of those times.

Who actually made the decision to ban the PGA guys that left? I really don't know.... I'm not snarking a point.

Did LIV adopt the local rule prohibiting drivers over 46 inches? If not, that would have been another attraction for Bryson and Phil.

Maybe in a round about way - they set the playing conditions/rules and the Admin enforces them. Not sure.

The 'ban' probably was a result of predetermined conditions like the # of tournaments they have to play and
other specific membership rules. I'm too lazy to research/Google it in depth.... 🙄

Jay Monahan made the decision. The reason they got banned / suspended is the PGA Tour has a policy that they have to approve releases to play in another leagues tournament.

They only allow three releases per year and they allow zero if the other tournament is held in North America. So the banned / suspended players were in violation of the PGA Tour rules.

🤣They must have repped themselves. I don't think any lawyer would use that as a basis for the suit. If so, they are even dumber than the sand in the bunkers.

I guess the fellas don't realize they are employees of the Saudi Golf LIV Tour, due to their signing bonuses; they get paid every week even when not playing now. They are no longer independent contractors, that can be 'hired' by the PGA. How would that look, 1 company pilfering workers from another, by allowing them to 'work' for them?

All I know is in this first round it’s the PGA Tour 1 and LIV 0. There is no free agency. LIV has their players sign a contract just as the PGA Tour has their members sign contractual obligations.

In this case the PGA Tour’s rules held up. The suspensions / bans will not be lifted.

Just saw Cam Smith’s press conference and he was cagey. He was asked if he’ll be joining LIV and he said no comment. Looking to grab a little loot in the FedEx Cup Playoffs before saying adios.
