Subsonic Not this case. PGA already pays theirs. The LIV fellas are just suing 'for words'. There is no money involved, so their lawyers are getting paid normal fees, not commission. If it is found the PGA broke some laws, then there would be fines levied. And we all know who gets that money.

Par4QC Lawyers that can litigate cases of this nature are not inexpensive. I bet their "normal" fees are quite extensive.

The PGA may have in house counsel, but they often sub out cases that are beyond their expertise.

I think I’m going to wait and see if any/many of the other tour players share Justin’s particular/peculiar(?) mind set. I seriously doubt the LIV players consider the suit as their suing Tiger, Rory, and Justin. His comments regarding LIV, even more so his eagerness to share them, sound like he’s auditioning for a spot on the Tour’s policy board. 😜

Agree. Just because JT is taking it personally, doesnt guarantee a widespread sentiment among the players. There's probably quite a few guys who are jealous they didn't get the "invite".

Also, probably quite a few guys who were offered but turned it down; Then went back to LIV to say "OK, I'm in" only to be told "sorry, deal off the table and we have enough for now"...

Some PGA Tour players said the same thing when Vijay Singh sued the PGA over him being suspended for using deer antler spray. That 5 year battle was settled before going to trial.

The Tour Players write their own TOS, etc. The Admin just runs it for them.

There are certain "types" that like to speak in definite terms about why someone else is doing something, or how somebody else should be acting or living etc, without knowing the real reasons, especially when they disagree.
Pure speculation and BS. They also like to name drop, for full effect.
This is one of those times.

Did JT, Rory and Tiger ban them? Do JT, Rory and Tiger decided the litigation? If yes, then JT is right, if not, it's just a perception.

Who actually made the decision to ban the PGA guys that left? I really don't know.... I'm not snarking a point.

Did LIV adopt the local rule prohibiting drivers over 46 inches? If not, that would have been another attraction for Bryson and Phil.

Maybe in a round about way - they set the playing conditions/rules and the Admin enforces them. Not sure.

The 'ban' probably was a result of predetermined conditions like the # of tournaments they have to play and
other specific membership rules. I'm too lazy to research/Google it in depth.... 🙄

Jay Monahan made the decision. The reason they got banned / suspended is the PGA Tour has a policy that they have to approve releases to play in another leagues tournament.

They only allow three releases per year and they allow zero if the other tournament is held in North America. So the banned / suspended players were in violation of the PGA Tour rules.

Yup. Temporary restraining order denied. No irreparable harm suffered because of ample opportunity with LIV. Prepare for a trial down the road.
