Sneakylong What started as an expansion of the Asian Tour quickly morphed into something very different. Like it or not Phil looks like a tool being used by a country trying to use sport as a way to direct attention away from it's human rights issues (aka Sportswashing).
How can you call the Saudis 'scary mother-f**kers with a horrible record on human rights who murdered Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi' (supposedly said to Alan Shipnuck) and still be associated with them?
To look at it from a different angle...
Everyone who is complaining about human rights violations of the Saudi's I ask this....
The absolute fact is that in America, the largest religious sect is Catholic, moreover Christian. For all the people who proudly wear a cross around their neck on the favorite gold chain, How do YOU live with yourselves?
I mean, selective memory or bad history teachers have evidently lead you to somehow overlook the overwhelming atrocities, historically speaking, in the Catholic or Christian world.
Executions
Slavery
Forced conversions
Repression
Holy wars
and Anti-gay
To name only a few. Each overlooked to an extent as it was in the name of all holy.
Who really gives a shit? It's golf.
The hypocrites that argue on human rights, but still have or still do use Saudi oil and are hopeful that "those bastards" turn their pumps oh HIGH to reduce their own cost at the pump.
It's a sport, It's about money, it's a personal decision for each to live their lives in a manner they choose which also falls under FREEDOM, one that America itself historically speaking has not granted to all.
Just sayin'
