Tinker You guys remember I had problems getting the proper screw for my son in laws driver. Well he was apparently hitting it last week and the head literally fell apart. The crown blew right of the body of the driver. He got pissed off and threw the head in the trash. I wasn’t there but wondered if I could have epoxied the crown back on. He went on ebay and bought another cobra head. It also has a plastic crown. And people are considering the new plastic Taylor Made driver? Good luck.
Stu1961 backinit I thought this was going to be about this which I thought was bullshit. As someone who has an F9, I'm curious ... what about Rick's video did you think was bullshit? I know I had some questions whether this really was an apples-to-apples comparison, but I only had questions - there was nothing to me obviously off. What did I miss?
LBlack14 Sounds to me like he may have had a counterfeit. Tell him to get it out of the trash and send it to me.
brownmoose13 My take and I will say is that I think Rick is very fair in his reviews is that the difference between the 2 was the face which is easily seen. His problem was that Cobra does make any mention of anything on the head so you might be buying an S when you think you are getting the original F9
backinit I would have liked to see an S stamp on that driver or change the baseplate. Yes, the pricing kind of hints that it's not the same driver, but it seems like a deliberate attempt to mislead the public. I mean, they are not TM...lol
Tinker It’s was a real Cobra. I’m just saying plastic to be sarcastic, it’s a carbon crown. Thursday he brought me his buddy’s Adams speed line. He said it just came unglued. It’s an adjustable and the shaft came out with about a half inch tip. The rest is still in the head. These young dudes swing hard and wild and they’re beating the shit out of these drivers. I have a 20 plus year old Alpha driver that looks brand new. These kids are spending hundreds and only expect these drivers to last a couple years.
colej Tinker That couple years is probably the target for these big “oem” companies. They want to sell people a new driver every year.
