    Just saw a story on Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel on the guy who does the crossword puzzle for the NY Times, which bought Wordle and he said the best word to start with is AROSE.

    Never played Wordle myself. Bryant Gumbel said he starts with AUDIO. They played against each other in a game and they got to the sixth try and Bryant got the word FOYER.

      Like I said I don't know much about Wordle. But the NY Times crossword puzzle guy and Gumbel played a Wordle match and it was basically a draw and they then got the final word. If that makes any sense.

      Both are huge Wordle fans with Gumbel playing daily in matches with his buddies. If you get HBO then watch this months Real Sports and see for yourself.

      I think crossword puzzle and Wordle enthusiasts would find it interesting. I'm neither and I found it interesting. lol

        I play Wordle most days with the Fam and a close friend. It is a good excuse to pull us together. My favorite starting word is Olive.

        I like it. I'll usually play the NY Times Wordle a few days a week. Got it in 3 today.

          garyt1957 You’ll want the “Y” too in your second guess, plus common consonants - so maybe “TYRES”? I used to use “Adieu” first, but found I had a better chance at solving in two tries if I used “Story” first.

              Gave it a try today. Would have helped if I looked to see what the colors mean ahead of time. Hopefully I'll give it a better go tomorrow.
