As a few of you know, I don't sleep much anymore, work or not. Anyway, I was skimming through Facebook's Marketplace this morning around 3:30 or so and glimpsed the clean looking soles of some "Taylormade golf clubs" . Once again, no pics of the backs, at all and some bad angles of the faces is it. I cussed and moved on. After about a half hour or so, my curiosity got the best of me because of how clean the soles looked and asking price. So at 12 minutes after 4, I figured wtf and to messenger I went.... "More pics? Would like to see faces and backs." Honestly, I figured I'd get nada, but low and behold, at 4:45 I get a reply, group pics of all the backs and faces in 2 pics. Out loud I said "you gotta be fuckin' shittin' me!!", in disbelief of what I was looking at. I had to double check the asking price which had been reduced. I quickly messaged back "where are you located exactly?" because it just said listed in Cincinnati, 2 days ago I think it was. She (pretty little Japanese girl) says Mason Ohio. I ask where exactly because I live in Mason as well and I want the irons. She responds "PERFECT! If you would like to buy this, please let me know by tonight because another person is considering to buy this on this weekend." I told her I can pickup this morning around 11-11:30. She says great, she'll be home after 9am and sends me her address and phone number. She lives in some new, high end apartments off Mason/Montgomery Rd., "The Latitude". Look like office buildings and that's what I thought they were when they were built. I'm still kinda shocked and thinking this is too good to be true. I check her profile page and she's married, has 2 kids and is actually straight outta Japan and employed by a Japanese company here in Mason. I call her when I'm heading out, she answers quick and tells me how to get to her exact building and just let her know when I arrive. I pull in the front door, call her, "I see you", comes right down with the irons wrapped in 1 sheet of spongey packing paper, hands them to me and says "you want?" I asked if I can unwrap them and check them out? "Please, yes". Asked her if the asking price is right and she asks "too much?". My inner Uncle Steve popped in my head and I smile 😁, NOOO, it's PERFECT. She then says to "please wait", steps inside and returns immediately with a putter and another club in her hand and asks "you want too? Free". I said sure, hands me a decent looking Carbite putter and an XXIO graphite shafted sand wedge. "Thank you very much" and walks back in the building. Honestly, I was at a loss and just sat there for a couple minutes, dumbfounded. I can't believe what just happened and how simple it was, 3 damn miles from my house, 9 minutes. Sorry so windy, but I'm still grinning. These are what I bought for less than my last bar tab. The 1st 2 pics are what she sent me after I asked for more pics. They've been hit, but not much and the grips feel damn near new.
