Sorry I need to rant. Typhoon should read this and maybe feel better about his wife

So last Friday my invalid wife (can barely walk from bad toe) says she has a sore throat and feels a cold coming on. Sure enough she wakes up Saturday with what appears to be a bad head cold. She's worried it could be Covid and wants to take a test which does seem like a good idea. She takes the test and tells me it's positive. She calls her dr and gets a prescription for Paxlovid, which I go get....amazingly the medicine is free, but I did pay for the Covid tests as we were out.

So I basically quarantine with her and I'm pretty happy I have an excuse to work from home for at least a few days. Also hit the driving range and started to find my swing again.

My wife decides to take another Covid test the other day and it's negative. We're a bit surprised because she's still pretty filled up and we've heard people can test positive for a while after getting Covid. Another test and she's negative again. I'm wondering if the first test was a false positive, but the wife is convinced she has Covid.

So I never saw the initial Covid test, but she texted a picture of it to our kids. My oldest daughter didn't pay much attention initially, but after hearing about the negative tests she looks more closely at the original pic and realizes that .....wait for it......ITS NEGATIVE!!! Yes my wife had a 50/50 shot and misread the test. I blame myself because I should know better than to trust her with literally anything.

Now despite 3 negative tests, my wife still feels she has Covid. The tests must all be faulty because she's 100% certain. So certain she refuses to ask the doc if she should still take the medicine. I asked and it is okay and may even help.

Of course 3 tests could all be wrong. Apparently you can get Covid and not test positive until nearly a week later when your symptoms may be gone. Still my wife had a 50% chance of reading the test correctly and blew it 🤣
