I guess mine would be back in 1999, our final Christmas in Paducah, Kentucky before relocating to the Northeast on December 28th, three days later. The moving company had boxed our stuff up a few days earlier and we were slumming with my best friend over the holiday, as we would've otherwise spent the day in our hotel. He and I were like brothers... their kids were around the same age, had spent the past decade playing golf and hoops together in our spare time. I also spent many a night the year prior helping him do some home improvement stuff at his new house, we were that close.
Anyway, just the time of my life, I guess, with me still relatively young, with two young children, sharing Christmas with another family that we'd grown to love and desperately hated to leave behind with our new life in the Northeast waiting. My wife and I still talk about how special that Christmas was, with everything going on, and all these years later - the nostalgia that always comes back to us this time of year.
