Wishon 870Ti

I wanted to feel a little sun so I grabbed an old Wishon sw to chip in the back yard. Hell, I lasted 15 minutes. I suppose the 870ti are the softest feel ever for me.
I will be happy when I can attempt to build up some strength.

I’m very surprised you’d say that. I always felt that the titanium face felt very firm.

I remember they could smoke a ball. Sounded a bit different so they took a few hits to get used to.

Great iron head but the low bounce never seemed to work for me. I think I still have a 3-GW set of heads wrapped up somewhere in storage. I did love that little “tink” sound they made at impact. I do remember them going a few yards farther than comparably lofted irons.

I had a set built with apollo humps many years ago. I remember they were extremely long and I also thought that "ting" was from the shaft lol- I guess not! Not sure why I got rid of them tbh, then years later I tried to recreate the magic with a set of 870s and some project x shafts and they just felt dead. Don't think it was the shaft because my current set of sterlings has PX shafts too and no problems with distance.

I honestly don’t remember which shaft I had them built with, but I tried those lightweight Recoils later on and hated them. I pulled those shafts and bagged up the heads soon after. I’m getting the itch to build a set, so these may come out of retirement for a last chance. Those Recoils were long distance wise, but I couldn’t hit em straight.

Still playing a 5-GW set of 870ti's with graphite shafts, nice feel & nice sound at impact like "got all of that one". Ball of choice these days is a Callaway SuperSoft so a well struck 870ti feels like it's forged.

Now I remember…….I originally had them built with Steelfiber 80’s. Dispersion was great, feel not so much. Swapped those out for the Recoils and feel was great, dispersion was awful.

Really good heads, I just wish they had more bounce. They are insanely forgiving and loooooong. I used the 4 iron as a legitimate driving iron, it was good for 235+ off the tee and easy to control. I think the fit of my set wasn’t perfect, I was really good with the 7iron on up, but struggled to get in tight with the short irons.
