candukid My god people.
Adams caught the ball, made a slight step and then knee hit ground. Down by contact.
Cooks never really had complete possession of the ball and did not make any sort of football move before he hit the ground. Ball never touches the ground. Interception.
Reluctant to respond because it continues this can of worms to keep going. lol
Again, it's not that cut and dry my friend. There's still lot's of confusion on this. And we can agree to disagree. And many long time respected 'football' people have differing opinions on this.
The NFL for years starting with the Calvin Johnson catch has had an issue with what is a catch. And unfortunately it continues especially in the Playoffs.
And unfortunately it will always be subjective.
So, we can agree to disagree. My only analogy was with the Adams catch is that he had his knee down for a spilt second and then the ball was stripped. But ruled a catch because that is considered a football move. Ruling down by contact.
Cooks initially caught the ball in the air. Possessed it to the ground for a split second and then it was stripped as they rolled. Ruling no football move and thus an interception.
So again, knee down = football move down by contact. Opposed to back, ass, elbow, leg or any other body part down after a flying catch = no football move.
This is what me and many others disagree with. Again, the most adamant on Cooks being a catch was Rex Ryan. But there were others. My guess is subjectivity will always be there. Just another factor to argue about with sports. lol
And even the network booth refs disagree on calls. So again, subjectivity rules.
I've made my opinion known over and over. So if you and others see it differently that's fine. Last post on this subject.
Now in the words of Vitamin Bill-E Belichick, "we're on to Denver." lol
