If the offense can push then the defense should be able to push and jump up to make a stop as well. If the tush push is to remain then it behooves all the teams dealing with it to contact a stellar rugby team coach on ways to combat it.
On the issue of the NFL players playing flag football in the Olympics. I don’t think they should and if I was a head coach I would not want my players doing it. First of all, it’s a different game. There are professionals that play it and could be better at it already. Secondly, the quick cuttting and movement could open them up to non-contact injuries, thus affecting their real jobs. Lastly, the players focus should be on making themselves play better at football and winning a Lombardi trophy. Anything else is self serving and just for dollar signs. Just like the greedy NFL.

I saw a bit of the flag football from the Pro Bowl one year. Some guy tried to make a diving catch and landed right on his shoulder of course with no pads. I immediately thought "This is dumb". And didn't some guy blow out an achilles or something?

I’m surprised teams haven’t figured out how to stop the tush push but I get it. If you completely sell out up the middle you could easily give up a touch down. Maybe the eagles just have superior talent and power to pull it off. I’ve watched a few other teams try it but not the same. It’s definitely a positive for them. For me I really don’t care that much either way. My team is the Seahawks so more than likely we’d be down by 10 or more most of the game. The tush thing would be the least of our worries.

That's where I'm at. I'm not an Eagles fan per say, but good gawd what a load of talent. Anyway, they've come up with a play that they can execute well and use effectively. The rest of the league needs to man up! Why is this topic so contentious?

It would be a lot easier to “man up” if there was a level playing field. Instead of trying to outlaw the tush push, they should have petitioned to change the rules to allow the defense to also push their teammates forward.
