Not a popular concept today, but one of principle no less!
I can't disagree with that in concept, but repeating last year's performance is going to be a high bar, let alone for 2 more years. I'd say that the HUGE $ they're already paying him qualifies as "taking care of him". I think that's what bonuses and incentives are for (when a guy goes above and beyond). Increasing the salary is a precedent that everyone sees and might be bad for business. In the workplace, we gave $ awards for special acts and promotions/salary increases for future performance based on demonstrated increase in skill/contribution. Is Barkley going to step it up at his age?
