It’s obvious the Bears should’ve got Jim Harbaugh. Especially when he wanted to come there. And considering their history with not so great quarterback play.

Same with the Patriots. They should’ve pursued him as well. But Kraft went in house instead with Mayo. It’s been reported the Krafts are unhappy with the play calling.

Again, in this NFL I’d go with an offensive minded head coach. Especially if you have a young QB with talent. Like both the Bears and and Pats do.

What is obvious to me is the fact Chicago keeps drafting the wrong personnel. The Coach is already in place, fit the players to the coaching and you will have cohesion in performance. Next year it will be different....new coaches, new draft. Complete the puzzle with the pieces that fit instead of jamming things in that don't.
Draft....then hire the Coach. Pay for him.
If Coach comes 1st, let him draft to his style....not yours!!

Or just sell the damn team to someone that will.

You won't like it, but injuries. Lions had 19 (NINETEEN!) defensive players on IR and lost 2 more during the game. You can't function like that Buffalo has a ton also. That an the fact they were already the #1 and #2 scoring teams in the NFL and what else could be expected?

I had already posted about the 2017 Eagles having 18 starters on Injured Reserve at the time of the Super Bowl in February 2018. I was trying to be encouraging. I do not believe that players 2nd and 3rd on depth charts are just tackling dummies in practice. That's high school.
My question remains, what happened to the defense for both Lions and Bills?
Watched the Vikings last night. They play defense. (Yeah, I know, it was 'da Bears.)

After watching last night's Bears/Vikings game, the Lions have no tripping points on the way home. Should they lose another, it will be of their own accord. jmo

Would have still been high scoring, sure. they are 1and 2 in scoring. But I'm confident both sides would have gotten the occasional stop here and there. Detroit hadn't allowed a 30 point game all year, now 31 and 48 in back to back weeks. The Lions are in deep trouble. They have now lost their ENTIRE starting DL to injuries plus 4 linebackers including two starters, 3 cornerbacks and a safety. No team can survive that. Too bad, they finally get a really good team and this happens, but that's football.

Just an outside observer with little details about NFC North, save for this forum and ESPN when I start looking outside my team's division. I think the Bears have jettisoned QB's too quickly because of shitty coaches. I think Fields will eventually do well in Pittsburgh. One need look no further than Minnesota as to QB's development being slower.

That's probably the best bet with their history. Saw where Calib Williams is in the top 5 (and climbing) of QB's getting hit in one season. They need to get some protection for him. He took a bad hit last night.

They do many things too quickly, and seemingly without thought. RBs, WRs, QBs, linemen........
Family run & you'd think they would have paid attention when growing up & into the biz.

Just, imo, time to 'turn it over' to those more capable of administrating.

Estimates are they are a $4B enterprise. It cannot be coming from football.

professor Yeah, the Jets destroyed Darnold so badly he was statistically the worst QB in the NFL for several years in a row. Carolina isn't exactly a plase to solve QB problems.

I wonder if Zach Wilson might have been serviceable lf he had not gone to the Jets? He was nomwlrsw than Darnold was, and the Jets actually won more of the first 16 games last year than they did this year with AR at the helm.

I agree wholeheartedly! As I watched the game I kept thinking, "I wonder if the Vikings intend to really play tonight at all."
They just didn't look interested for some reason. I can't believe they didn't come out fired up after the way the Bears came back at them last game and with a chance to pull into a tie with the Lions after their loss earlier in the day.

I think "hurries" can be almost as valuable as sacks. Many turn into INT's.
