DonM The Bears have made tons of progress in just 1 week. Amazing how they kept that score down in a game that should have been 80-0. Outstanding defense!!
And Fields had almost 100 yds. passing.
This team is going to be amazing the rest of the way.

mulegolf Maybe they'll get a new QB in the draft but if they don't also get some new O-linemen he'll get killed in his first season.

Cousins is averaging around 340 yds./game.
Don't think the problem is on his arm.

There is talk of the possibility. Maybe the Jets O-line is good enough to give him more time to throw. I'm not sure what would be in it for the Vikings though other than a draft pick. If the Vikings trade him during the season they don't really have anyone able to be a starting QB in the NFL and their backup QB's are more like 3rd and 4th string QB's. They don't really have anyone that's a good #2 QB. Maybe that's the idea, trade Cousins but don't have a valued QB to replace him.
That would insure that they loose even more games and possibly end up with a good draft pick because they suck.

Par4QC My kids are already talking about tanking for the first pick. I refuse to get in on that so soon. But yeah, it could happen.

The problem is, they really wanted to use their two first round picks for other positions. Then again, if they get an actual great QB, that will eventually cure a lot of other things. Then then again, they are the Bears.

DonM If you've traded for what you think you need, and brought in others that you thought you needed, and it's not working after 3 games(& 13 losses in a row😲)......you got to start looking as to why!
Expect a coaching change mid-season, or before. Then when (if?) they continue to lose, there will be more changes after the season.
May even 'buy' a real coach.🤔

If the players can't gel.....it is the 'mixer'.

My son tells me the Jets don't have the picks to trade for anyone, because of the Aaron R trade. But heck, Cousins would only be worth about a 3rd or 4th rounder for one partial season, IMO. Jets will probably sign Flacco or somebody like that.

Bingo! You either compete or you totally tank, operating between those two points is death. Vikings aren't going anywhere with Cousins, tank now and reload.

I've watched no game of the Vikings this year. But....

Par4QC But they are losing, and he has value in the trade market. That’s my take anyway.

Par4QC I don't think people are blaming Cousins as much as what has he done to make them winners? If you're losing with the guy and he has a massive contract maybe it's better to move on and use that money elsewhere. Cousins has a rep for not showing up in big games, but he's a stat padder. Much like Matt Stafford in Detroit. Stafford had Hall of Fame stats in Detroit but what did they win? Detroit was way better off and got a boat load of picks and saved some money trading him and may have actually gotten a better QB in Goff. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

DonM He really has too much value on paper right now for any team to go after him. And he knows it. And the Vikings don't need money. They need players which no team is going to give up, that would help them. His stock at season's end will be high, IF he can pull out a few Ws the rest of the way & just keep doing what he is doing.
Might be a battle with Chicago for the #1 pick.
What a division they have this year!😅

Always thought Cousins was a decent QB, all the way back to Michigan State. He's been on some not so stellar teams.
