And the results were nothing short of outstanding! The Aldila NV 44 Magnum was barely off the manufacturer’s mark, but the Alpha Platinum 45 was dead on. I also weighed the bare shafts, with the Alpha coming in at 48 grams and the Aldila 53, both uncut. I did an unscientific flex test by adding a few hundred grams of weight to the clamped shafts, and the R flex Alpha drooped roughly 3/8” more than the S flex Aldila, both at identical lengths. I’m probably gonna build them as is to 45” in my Ping G425 Max and use 44 gram TackiMac IT2 grips to get the swing weight back up a little. I can always purchase different weights for the head if need be.
