Those classics are sweet, LB!

Rick,

I demoed the new BB at our Florida course last March. Modern lofted, clicky-faced distance irons with a wide sole. You didn't like the G400 irons, so........

I was hoping that they might be very original BB ish with some newer technology folded in. ☹

I'd say they are. They're shovels like the OG, with thin welded-on faces like all the other SGI irons. Get the right shaft and they'll launch high and go far. I just remember you not liking the G400 PINGS, so I didn't think you liked modern designs.

If I don't like the look of a club at address it really messes with my mind (what little is left). The G400's really got away from what I consider a classic Ping "look." I have not looked at any of the newer Cally heads in the flesh. From pics the B21's appear close to looking like the original. If they look similar to the old being huge with a think topline but with some newer tech that make them go farther than the originals that would interest me. I still have some 20 year old acers Cally clones that are old school lofted that I still play and getting ready to reshaft them with some MCS 75 shafts.

Rickochet I like some offset on irons, esp. the Callaways. But, migawd, I looked at these in the store, then checked the specs online. The PW has the same offset of my 5i!! I don't know that I can turn far enough left to make face contact with the ball, with the B21 irons(7-AW). 😄

          sdandrea1 Loooove me some offset!

Speaking of that.... Are there any iron heads with low/no offset in the player game improvement
category ? Guess Maltby comes as close as any.

sdandrea1 I just had to recheck the facts of my above statement, pertaining to offset. Last night, I was looking at these, and the Callaway site showed offset of over 7.37 on the 6i, & 4.70 on the PW. But that pic, from RBG, and the info from there shows the 6i offset is only 2.9. That figure is even less than my Apex irons' offset. So, the specs RBG has posted, for the BB irons, are incorrect.

I would rather try the Tour Edge C521, 4-PW, for $140 less, than a 6-PW set of the B21 irons. 😉(I can't find the offset specs for the TE heads)

sdandrea1 Yeah, I can't find the offset specs for them. But with the huge price diff, I'd go with TE before the B21. Looks like they could be very similar clubs.
