Callaway Mavrik Max driver

I can't really call Holy Grail yet, but this head is as good feeling and as straight as anything I've owned. I have a Maltby M890 shaft in it at 44", and I have another tip adapter, so another shaft will get a go at maybe 45". I have the 14g weight in the heel and the adapter on S loft and D face angle (or lie angle). My few misses were left today but they started in that direction. I did leak a few baby fades by accident. I hit most of my shots down the middle. VERY good driver. I can't speak to distance because I'm a 69 year old with the club speed of an 80 year old.

Steve, is the 14g weight in the heel the default from the factory location. Also does this take a special tool for the weights or does the shaft tool or another torx size work?

Edited: I just checked and the shaft wrench works for the weight also. I will weigh them tomorrow.

As you well know, there is not a holy grail(surprise!!), but mine is a really great head. It is a TC(Tour Certified) and the face is different, without that 'clock' look. It has a tiny + mark, which I smash every time fyi🤣, that designates true dead center.
I did just get in a plain ol' Mavrik head, so now I get to compare all 3 of them. (Got rid of the SZ head in trade.) Not sure when I'll get out again.

I quit looking at distance, per se. "As long as I can hit it" suffices, as long as it's in the fw, or slightly off. At least with these heads now, and our unpowerful swings, we do not need Deep Woods Off any longer. 😉

Don't know if you've ever heard of it, but that little '+' is called 'the sweetspot'! 🤣

Look what I got today, a Mavrik Max 12° from Cally preowned with a UST Mamiya Helium R flex. It was listed as "like new" and as expected this sucker has never been hit. And it came with the Mavrik headcover.

I’ve got both a Mavrik Max (10.5) and a Mavrik Sub Zero (9)Sub Zero is in my bag. It’s long and straight and I’m usually all about forgiveness in my drivers.

Wow, yesterday I received a 10.5 Mavrik Sub Zero. Took it for a spin today, I be happy, First driver change since 2011. Also I got he 3 wood Sub Zero as well. Its a keeper too.

You haters are missing the point. I loved the G400SFT. I love the Mavrik Max. Hell, I loved my Cobra. They don't lose favor. I just move on. My reviews come with no commitment to keep the club. I'm just passing on info for those that my not have tried these units. Why stick with one club when there's so many to try and so little time. It's fucking FUN! Believe me.....if I hate a driver (like the Clevelands I've tried) I'll say so. Some of you guys see me review a club and your first reaction is "he's not going to keep it". True, but so what?

I don't know. I got this head from brownmoose13 and the 14g was in the back. It's darker its color. I moved it to the heel with the stock wrench.
