Hybrid shaft tipping help?

So I bought a couple hybrid heads from Monarch. I just noticed that these heads are noticeably lighter than your typical iron/hybrids. The 7H weighs 245 which is more like a 3 iron weight. I'm using DTG FGI Plus shafts. Tip trimming shows 2.5" for a standard 7 iron. Since these weigh what a 3 iron weighs, should I tip them as a 3 iron? These hybrids are meant to be played 1" longer than standard irons, so 38" for the 7H if that matters. Thanks

I would tip by the head weight. So if it weighs like a 3 iron head tip the shaft for that. Going 1” longer may have a small effect on feel but IMO it won’t be noticeable.

Par4QC I plan on playing them at the recommended length so that shouldn't be a problem.

colej That's what I thought, but figured smarter people then me would know. May not have to worry about it. I took my wife's Wedgewoods out on the back nine today and hit those things so darn well I may just play them for awhile to see if it holds. Shot a 40 with no idea how far each club would go. Hit a couple great that went too far and too short because i had no clue but everything was straight and easy to getup. They seem to go about one club shorter than the corresponding iron. Can't wait to try them now that I know that.
