Cooling Misters

With the temps hanging above 105°+ daily we're thinking about installing
a mister system under our deck.
Get a lot of mixed reviews on the DIY systems though, mainly leakage problems.
Anybody try/use an outdoor cooling mister?

darpar tried a premade setup, it went south quickly with the well water here at the barn. I ended up buying some drip irrigation and used the foggers for plants. That set up has worked well for the last 3 years. If I end up having an issue with one of the nozzles I can replace them easily, and keep right on going.
I think I used DIG products from tractor supply when I did that.

Misting systems work better in areas where the humidity is low. I lived in west Texas and I had a "swamp cooler" and it worked well there. Here in Kentucky where we have high humidity we tried various misters and have limited luck. We put a ring of misters around a canopy at out marina and it did ok but you almost had to wear swim suit - cool but wet. I have also used a rotating fan with a mister ring on it. It worked also but to be cool in a high humidity you will get wet.

After reading a bunch of bad reviews for the misting kits and how they seem to leak,
I went with a PVC set up.
Cheaper, easy to add onto and the joints don't leak.
Best of all, now we can sit in the swings under the deck when it's 115°!
And take a shower at the same time!

That's what I should've done, but it's been so friggin hot lately I didn't want to wait for
something from Amazon.
So we bought a kit from Lowes for about $45 made by Orbit. that had 6 emitters.
The emitters are what they nail you on at the stores, everything else is basic PVC stuff.

The same thing from Amazon: You can get 10 PVC emitters for less than $20
