There's a little dive bar here in Phoenix called Harvey's Wineburger and it's the best hamburger I've ever had and by a wide margin.

That is a tough one for me, other then homemade (which I had tonight) there aren't really any places around here with burgers to write home about. Only options are chains and if I had to choose I would go with Whataburger. There are bar/restaurants in the area with $12 burgers, but non that I have had that was worth the extra money.

Burgers should be easy to do, but most places just can't seem to get it right. If your burger has to be raw in the middle to be juicy it is time to try a different blend of meat!

Depends on where I go. There's a restaurant near me called The Red Barn. One of my kid brothers used to work for the owners. When I go there, I order a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The bacon is smoked on site, and cut very thick. There is a burger joint just around the corner that has one with pineapple, I add bacon to that one.
What can I say, I like bacon.

I like thick burgers from brewery type restaurants. My current favorite is from a place called Arizona Wilderness Brewery. A PB&J burger with some of the best bacon ever on it.

Whether anybody knows it or not, Bob Evans farm burgers are killer.

I like Red Robin best as far as burger chain restaurants. Like the char broiled flavor. Have had several good ones at golf course restaurants.

We don't have much to choose from in my small city. Maybe not the best burger, but the most unique are White Castles. They are small square burgers with grilled onions and a pickle. You have to buy a sack full for a meal. We refer to them as "fart burgers" or "rectum rockets" as they do tend to make one generate a lot of gas. I think the company also coined the term "sliders" in 1921 and might be the first hamburger chain of restaurants.

Rickochet LUV White Castle's! I first had them when visiting my wife's relatives in Southern Indiana (right across the river from Louisville, in fact). We don't have them around here, but when we go visit our daughter in Columbus, I sometimes sneak in a few (of course everybody in C'bus looks down their noses at them). Everything you said about 'em ("rectum rockets") is right on....! IIRC, Fuzzy Zoeller always talked about them, and he was from my wife's home town down there.

Around here, Five Guys is the best, hands down, IMO.....love the generous portions of french fries too!

When we lived in Grand Rapids, I loved The Cottage Burger from the Cottage Bar. Dark rye bun, green olives, lettuce, tomato, bacon, Swiss and American Cheese and hickory mayo.

Lots of one off places but nobody would know them so I'll stick to chains, I like 5 Guys, especially the fries, Smashburger is fine as is Whataburger . But I'll eat a Whopper no problem and even occasionally a regular little McDonalds hamburger, so I'm not picky. Wahlburgers are pretty good, also but pricey for a small burger. Oh and In and Out are good too.

If we are not feeling like paying $10-$12 for a burger, my wife and I still like a Whopper. We get one 2-3 times per year.
The last deal they had was 2 for $5. You can't go wrong on that price.

We will hit just about any fast food place for a burger depending on the taste at the time. Quick, easy and cheap are usually McD's ,Wendy's or BK, probably in that order. Throw a Rally's in there once in a great while, they have good fries also. We are pretty close to a Culver's, and they are pretty good also. There's not one close, so I hit a 5 guys when out of town near one. There are a number of good local burger places around, one of the best, D'Angelo's, is actually a pizza place. My best friend from back in high school owns a couple restaurants in the Hockessin, Delaware area. I wish I could visit more often because they have GREAT burgers! So if you are in the area, look for 2 Fat Guys!
