Forecast was for 1-2", north of I-80. I live a few miles
south of that line, so they must have forgot to tell us about the 6-8+" we'd be getting!! This was taken around 8:20 a.m.. Just went out and shoved about 12" off the truck bed vinyl!!

Your location is supposed to be snowed on in the Winter, even we are getting some low land snow tonight and next Thursday. Nothing will stick though, thank goodness, these drivers already caused loads of accident in a dry day.
Tough being the most tech savvy city in the Nation.

I'm sure it's already out there. But it would also block the whole system. People cannot live like it's 1990, with no phone up their ass all the time!! I'd vote for the system to be installed in every vehicle, if the gvt. passed the regs., and it was put to the voters. What a different world it would be. Again.

Then again, probably be a lot of motorists killed by stepping out of their cars to answer phones/texts.
Esp. those idiots that would not stop/park their vehicle first!!!😉

re: the snow
Ended up with about a foot on the truck & car. Waiting to see what the TV calls it; they are never right, at my house anyway. (it's all clear now....truck, car, drive, btw)

Non emergency calls should be blocked to a moving vehicle.

Or better yet, have the driver's road test including a cell phone use section in the moving vehicle ( no texting should ever be permitted in a moving vehicle unless a voice translation is used ) If someone is dumb enough not to pass the test, then the only number available to them in a moving vehicle is a 911 call. This and improving the GPS will save a lot of life.

we had a hail storm for 15 minutes and 1 - 2 inches of accumulation on the ground. Forecasting snow tonight and tomorrow morning. Tomorrow's commuting will be a circus !

Driving from Champaign to Bloomington today we saw 7 cars in the ditch along I-74.

They were all young drivers.

Fortunately I live walking distance from work. So tonight won't be too bad going to work.

The only thing worse than distracted driving is distracted driving on an icy road by some asshat who is going too fast. Last week on a narrow rural road some jack wagon drifted half way over into my lane and was obviously texting and I had to lay on the horn. He almost took the side out of my truck and the only thing he did in response was to flip me off like I was the one in the wrong.

I never understand that, all they had to do was a friendly wave of hand and be done with it.
It seemed the younger generations do not understand the consequences in life could be worse than their nightmare.

This morning, abide the visibility was not perfect with rain and sleet mixed, one compact car almost ran into my SUV at a junction of merge. Although the markings on the road surface was not vivid due to the weather and the twilight, there are road signs off the shoulder ( 2 of them ). I was ahead and stayed in the lane which has the right of the way. I saw this car coming up from behind which had no intention of merging nor slowing down. I had to step on the break hard to avoid a side swipe . Funny thing was, the driver probably did not realized what went on......
Light snow all morning, I'm not venturing out until all the idiot are in the ditch or been towed.

Lived in upstate NY for years and I do not miss the white stuff at all. What I hated was shoveling out the driveway and then have the snow plow come by and bury you back in.

Dammit. We got a coating of snow last night, a mere 12 hours removed from shooting 69 at the club no less. Terrific round, 6 birdies, 3 bogeys. Putted like a mad man.

More snow in the forecast Tuesday night into Wednesday for the northern perimeters of the Allentown area.

I guess if you're hanging the clubs up for the winter, that's a great way to close out the year. But I'd gladly trade that 69 in for three more months of reasonable golfable weather.

Cabin Fever season has officially begun. 🙁

It was 38 when I went out to play this morning. By the second hole the wind picked up and boy was it cold. We only played nine today and when I got home it was all the way up to 42. A regular heat wave.

Might get a round in tomorrow after all. Temps are too warm for wintry weather, and the rain moves out overnight to clearing skies and mid-40's temps for Wednesday with little-to-no wind here in Northeast PA.

Then the temps fall dramatically as the weekend approaches. The highs will be upper 30's, and even without wind that might be a bit too much. We've got times booked for both days, but I seriously doubt we'll be needing them.

Yeah, definitely. What I should do is utilize the decent weather tomorrow to get the snowblower tuned up and ready for the winter. I screwed up and left the gas in it over the summer.

I guess maybe a dab of stabil might be in order and I'll take my chances...

Winter is going great here in Montego Bay. 85 and sunny with a slight breeze off the ocean. Unfortunately when returning home next week I will probably be freezing my ass off.
