Mine too...Pretty much why I went to geezer flex shafts 2 years ago...But, looking at the numbers I doubt I get 40-50 yards of roll out...

There are some good charts on Trackman. There is one there too that shows numbers for each iron. For the iron chart though the LPGA numbers are more realistic for common folk.

Here’s a driver one we use at Ping.

That Ping chart is something else. At 90 mph and a level angle of attack you need 18* launch? And really low spin. What degree driver would you need to achieve that? I doubt it's even made. Most really low spin drivers don't come in ultra high lofts. Or am I totally missing something?

Go over to the right and see where being in the red is not good. The chart is what it is. You could loft up and hit a 15 degree driver....

It’s just a standard chart.

Looks okay to me. I rarely get more than 5-10 yds rollout and my driver distance is about 230. When i get hold of one it may get out to 245. My landing angle is high. I figure I’m swinging at about 95 ish. Never get the roll the chart says.

sdandrea1 According to this, my driver swing speed must be mid 80s

Right with you, or breathing down your neck at a mph or two less....the joys of geezer-hood...!!

I was at a Top Golf recently and they have the launch monitor that pumps out some figures. No clubhead speed or spin rates, but ball speed, launch angle and descent angle. I’m getting 162-165 ball speed that looks like a rocket coming off the face, but spins like a mother and has 45-52 degree descent angle. My average according to the launch monitor was 240 carry with 5-10 yards of roll usually. The tees were slightly lower than i use but nothing crazy.

I agree. I figure I’m 85 these days and my shots go low 200s. On a firm dry course I’ll get 225-230. If it’s very firm, then even more.

Taki27 The balls at Top Golf are not real balls. They fly about maybe 80-ish percent as far as real golf balls.

Taki, that’s good ball speed but that spin and angle of decent is killing you. Wish you lived closer... I’d fix ya in one lesson.

What about Smash Factor? That would be a better judge of how you're hitting it.

Typhoon I could use you. I hit my 3 wood off the ground as far as my driver. Even though I have only been on the range twice and course once, I love the Maltby STW2. Unfortunately, I think I’m going to switch to the KE4 TC so I can alternate shafts till I find something that really clicks.

CallMeAl Smash factor is not really a good judge. You can hit a low lofted driver and a high lofted driver the same but smash factor will be better with the lower lofted driver... which won’t go as far.
It’s a face angle thing and head weight with higher lofted drivers. Same thing with a PW vs. a 5 iron. Smash factor numbers with a PW will be far worse than a 5 iron.

          Here, read this...

At Ping, we didn’t talk smash factor at all because of that.

candukid Yes. Those numbers are far more realistic for me at least.

Agreed pellmell's Trackman chart is a good basic chart.

Pellmell chart puts me in the mid 80s, but I have no idea about my AoA. Maybe neutral?
