2 eagles during his ProAm round. Social media is going golf nuts.
Wish his health hold up. Noticed he has less hair than this old guy when he took off hid cap.

It would be fun to see him play competitively again. Playing well in a field of 18 may not qualify in some minds, but I'm betting it would be a confidence lifter for him.

Regardless of the size of the field, playing in ProAm or not.....
Be able to get 2 eagles at a PGA venue is awesome. We'll see tomorrow if he could hold the body and the mind together.

lots of gimmies and do overs on Pro Am day ;(

from Golf Digest recap:

"Again, it's just a Wednesday pro-am. But still. . .

UPDATE: Woods had a much less eventful back nine with eight pars and a bogey Unofficially, he shot a two under 70."

Last year DJ was -25 so averaged better than -8 per round in the tourney so this course is pretty easy it seems. 😉

Yes, besides he is more than a year older , he will find out not just more eager beaver young guns flooding the field also the others had matured into a better golfer since his absence.
I expect him to make the cut at the minimum, maybe in the top 10.

      Release

I guarantee he makes the cut, since there is none
and to make top 10 he has to only beat 8 other guys.

He shot -2 today so if he does that for each of the 4 rounds,
-8 last year was 15th place out of 17 golfers . all speculation of course

Alright, no cut line for the weekend, maybe it's the reason why he choose to return at this event .

For Woods, this is just a tune-up to see how his back responds to four rounds of competitive play. He hasn't played on tour for nearly a year-and-a-half, and he's had all that back surgery so I'd be surprised to see him actually contend. But you never know. It is Woods after all.

He pulled out of 2 tourneys, saying he wasn't ready(meaning he did not feel he could shoot 63/64). He's in this one with no 'no names' in the field, that I've seen, on perhaps an easy course. Doubtful he is going to be holding anything back as he really has nothing to lose. No doubt he has his swing grooved, or he would not be playing yet. He wins.....dirt is rubbed in everyone's faces. He loses......well, everyone expects this & it will be no big deal, except maybe to him. He gets reinjured......he's retired, gonzo!
However he plays, if he plays without being injured, will most likely indicate what we will be seeing of him next year. And I seriously doubt we will be seeing him next year if this week is something from a horror film.

I thi.k he picked the perfect tournament/ field to test things. I just hope is plays to a level acceptable by him and stays healthy. It's good for golf to have him competing.

I did notice the golf channel etc...not really making a big deal out of his return like they did last time. I think maybe they didn't want to shoot themselves is the foot again if he pulled out.

Did GuitarPlayer make the migration over from FGI? Nothing like the mention of Tiger in a thread title to get him to bite...

Thank goodness he's back. And to think I'd almost conceded that Jack's record would never be matched.

Why only 18 golfers in the event? Has he lost that much cred since he's been gone....seems like a gravy deal imo, great locale, WR pts, etc

Don't get out in front of your headlights.......
            😁

We tend to forget that he has been out there for 20+ years!
