Rickochet Temp is 44 degrees and rain for the fifth day in a row. The whole state is under a flood watch with all streams near or at record levels. Yesterday they cancelled Thunder Over Louisville which is a huge event on the Ohio River at Louisville. It is the whole week before Derby week with events all week over the river to include one of the top five airshows and the largest fireworks show in the US with about 500,000 in attendence. 😟
Later yesterday the internet, TV Cable, local phone went out about 7:30 PM and was out until about 2 AM. A major telecom cable crossing the KY River was hit by flood debris and snapped. A major water main attached to a bridge crossing the river was hit by a boat dock floating down the river and broke. The water pumps feeding the city water plant were being shut down with record flood water almost up to their level. We have been asked to use minimal water. I have my bathtub filled for flushing. Dang, too much water most places and not enough in others. I have lived here since '75 and have never seen this before. Fortunately the rain has finally stopped.
