sdandrea1 Just spoke to one of my granddaughters in Alaska. Her 15th birthday today. She was out of school because it warmed up to 45 degrees and the mountains of snow they've accumulated started melting and then freezing. Roads are skating rinks.
Bravopilot 25* this am. If this keeps up, I may start looking for a warmer place. BTW, it was low 40s in Switzerland all last week. No visible snow.
johnnydoom Bravopilot When I would visit dad's house at Christmas it would often get down to the 20s at night and usually close to 60 for a high. Didn't bother me. I would still wear shorts and a t-shirt outside most of the day. The dry cold seems to moderate the chill just as the dry hot moderates the heat. At least to me, it was still comfortable and never clammy.
fatshot Really nice yesterday…even sunny at times….even thought about playing golf! Right around freezing today, and tomorrow the bottom drops out…..high in the 20’s and windier than hell. I’ll be staying home tomorrow!!!

[deleted] Typhoon I have decided if the shit weather doesn't hold Archie back it isn't holding me back. That said now that the rain is over I'll be stacking wood again tonight by headlamp. 37 degrees this morning and the ground was so cold that we still had to patches of ice on the road. You can't make this stuff up. It isn't supposed to happen.

mulegolf 29° and we had freezing rain and snow mixed overnight and this morning but not a lot of either. It's supposed to end later this afternoon and tomorrow is supposed to start with patchy fog and become mostly sunny and about 34°. I may be able to get my Christmas lights up outside finally. I usually have that done on Thanksgiving weekend but wasn't feeling up to climbing a ladder with my new knee right then.
