Weird weather today. snow fall last night, an inch or two of the white powder covered the driveway this morning. Many fender bender on the roadway this morning, heard on the radio that a semi over turned on Interstate 5 , blocking traffic South bond.
All through out the day there were a couple of inches of snow n the pavement then melted away then snow flurries again.
We were caught up in this traffic mess started with the semi over turn this morning. It was carrying propane, so all day long they tried to remove it without success then had to call in a second semi to pump the propane from the one over turned. During the process, Interstate 5 had to be shut down both ways , including the I-90 Eastbound for safety concern.
It took us almost 3 hours trying to find secondary route to go home where usually the commute is under 30 minutes. There is no excuse of how this event was handled. Shut down an Interstate more than 7 hours is just bad planning.
more snow tonight then, more coming over this weekend.
