Looking more and more like we'll have water use restriction this coming summer. Colder this season but lack of moisture. All the mountain ranges have half the average snow on them, which means less melt in the spring to feed the lakes and the reservoir. More people to turn on the faucet as we have more than a million crushed into our region of 3 counties in the last year, not counting those under the radar for data. Utility cost went up quite a bit, and we have been conserving water all year round. recycle water from washing vegetables and even to soapy wish water saved in buckets to flush the bathroom. Taking shorter shower time . Not making a dent in the bi-monthly bill but we conversed quite a few hundred gallons of water.
Got the idea from visiting Singapore which is an island country depending on piped in fresh water from the neighboring countries. They have two sewer system, one for the regular daily use fresh water and one for flushing the bathroom with sea water. So two water treatment plant for the tiny island. We're just doing our part to try to conserve resource.
