Years of hockey, football, baseball and martial arts took their toll on my knees so I don't walk anymore when I play golf, I have to ride. I could walk but after about 3 or 4 holes, it would be too painful. I miss the walk, even if it is spoiled by my golf game.

I still prefer walking but use an eletric trolley to move a full set of clubs around. Last few rounds I've suffered a bit from fatigue especially in my legs (and you can't play decent golf without legs). Think it's a combo of dog walking and golf and dehydration. I'm trying to drink more water at home but it usually ends up in a kettle and turns into coffee ...

I also find I'm getting less tolerant to strong sun (even in Scotland), yesterday I could feel my face burning and ended up with a bad headache mid-round. I really need to remember sunscreen and get myself a decent sun hat when I'm golfing, even if it makes me look like a giant tee peg ...

sdandrea1 Don't normally have to in Scotland, just walk with my tongue hanging out and catch some rain (not while walking the dog though, too many women on that walk and don't want to give the wrong impression 🤣).

We are in the middle of a prolonged decent weather spell right now, low to mid 20s and very little rain. Between walking the dog and golf (3 rounds a week minimum at the moment) I reckon I'm out in the sun between 3 and 8 hours a day. Wouldn't be so bad if I tanned but I'm fair skinned and tend go from red direct to 🦎 shedding skin ... 😭

Baseball, softball, competitive swimming, off-road motorcycling = 2 knee replacements, total shoulder replacement, lumbar discectomy, carpal tunnel release, 2 hernia repairs and an arthritic neck fusion, so probably yes.

I had flu like symptoms from my first shingles shot. #2 comes in August... on my birthday. Lucky me.

Me too. I took Shingrix. Reaction was similar after jab #2 but a bit more severe.

My arm is still a little sore from Friday's Shingrix #1, but that's all I've had. My wife is similar, but she had a bump and a bruise and redness from her shot.

FauxAmish. got mine a couple years ago, expensive as my insurance didn't cover it. Worth it though

Beck and me had shingles at the same exact time. She had a small area about the size of a tennis ball is the small of her back that she kept putting peroxide on. Mine was between my shoulder blades, about the same size and both just itched some. I went to the Dr and he gave me a script. Neither stuck around long, nor have reared their ugly heads again. We got lucky, I reckon.

I had my shoulder surgery yesterday. All is well so far. My surgery started at noon and we were leaving the hospital at 3:30 PM. They hooked up a nerve blocker so all the hydrocodone I've needed was the one pill they gave me before being released from the hospital and one more this morning after I got up. I'd like to stay away from the hydrocodone as much as possible but I imagine that I'll be using more of it when the nerve blocker is no longer working. They told me that it should be OK for 48 hrs. so sometime tomorrow afternoon I'll likely be taking more hydrocodone. I actually had a pretty good night's sleep, which I didn't expect. I start therapy on Monday afternoon. I'm not looking forward to that but I know that it's needed to make a full and quicker recovery.

mulegolf Take the pain meds they give you on the timetable they prescribe. It will make the recovery and therapy you undergo that much less painful…Ask me how I know about that…😩
