Just got all done with my mission to prepare. Gas is up 25 cents at the place I usually get it. Bags were over some of the pumps but not sure if that's because they're out, or what? I did put my wife's fears to rest and picked up 2-5 gallon gas cans and filled both of'em up, so now we can get about 700 miles out of Texas, should we need to.
The store looked normal save for certain bald spots that have been pretty consistent since the ice storm. When I first walked in, I was greeted by grapefruit priced at 1.53/each at Walmart? No. I eat one every night I have one and ran out today and refused to pay 1.53 for one of them. You never know what you're getting as far as quality at Walmart.
Noticed jumps in some of the things we buy but nothing too outrageous. Spent just under 3 hundy but that was with 36 bucks on 2 gas cans so not too bad.
@livegolf...this will sound ridiculous but I told my wife about you driving to Florida and she was really hoping you wouldn't choose to go. Glad to see you're going to sit this one out until this is resolved. Reading about @fatshot 's experience was the tipping point for me on all this. To read someone actually stranded is all I needed to read.
Could be calm before the storm, or just a blip. Who knows in this world that feels ever more uncertain?
