mikeintopeka Right? I’ll take +6 for 13 pretty much any time I can get it at this point.
to the OP though, yes the scorecard is a liar all the time, in virtually every sport. Some of us have a knack for managing to score well while we struggle, while others could be playing their best and scoring like crap.
How many people look down at their card after feeling like they were swinging well to realize they didn’t even threaten their handicap? Or struggled to get anything going, but realize they were struggling to pars the whole round and it looks good? The good/awful part of golf is the long game can completely suck and what happens in the last 50ft is what really dictates the score.
I used to bowl a lot, same thing would happen there, felt like I was throwing it like shit, all out of sync, and would routinely finish above my average. Just the same, things could bounce a certain way and it was all good, yet you could throw the perfect shot and get screwed. I have about 30 games where I was one shot from a 300, at least 2/3rds of which were those freak things where you get screwed on a good shot. I have only one 300 game and I was throwing the ball like trash all night. The score card says that was my best game ever, I call bullshit.
