Tinker went to my favorite dept. store(Boscovs, a regional dept. store in my area) looking for a pair of summer shoes. These are Bass, made in USA, and 29.99, plus the sales lady brings you out a couple sizes that you can sit down and try on. If Bass can make these in USA and sell them for 30 bucks why can’t Nike and all the other Chinese product vendors? What am I missing?
johnnydoom Not sure. I just googled "where are bass shoes made" and up popped a few places suggesting that (other than their very high end shoes - $200 and up) they aren't. The rest were made in the Central America. I'm not too trusting of the information on the web in general though. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-1998-sep-11-fi-21683-story.html https://www.esquire.com/style/mens-fashion/a25482/g-h-bass-maine-1013/
Par4QC johnnydoom I'm not too trusting of the information on the web in general though. Esp. when it is 23 yrs. old info about a manufacturing company. 😉 Things can change for them overnight.
garyt1957 Supply and demand. Nobody is lining up outside stores overnight before the Bass shoes are released. Nike sells some value shoes that aren't expensive.
Ack8236 As johnnydoom said, Bass does make some shoes in the USA, for a price. Every listing for those shoes indicate they are imported. Like you, I try to buy Made in the USA, it can be very difficult to find things. Too difficult.
johnnydoom Par4QC Esp. when it is 23 yrs. old info about a manufacturing company. I know. And some companies did move some manufacturing back with incentives and pressure from our previous administration, but I didn't see a story about it, other than the one linked for the high end shoes, if Bass did.
