Not from any of my experiences, with any heads with adapters. The only 1 head I ever had that I could not adjust to open, by raising loft, was the Paradym. Would only go to square. But severely closed when lowering loft. TM, Cobra, Srixon, Ping, that I've had, did change to more open when raising loft. Per adapter markings.
I don't think I've got/had defective adapters. Some came from factory with the heads, some bought aftermarket. All the same results.
