We finally had some decent weather and no clouds, so I managed to get a couple of pictures of the night sky. The first one is Orion. The second picture is Mars and the Pleiades, with a passing Russian intelligence gathering satellite that was launched in 1986

They must have a pretty big fuel tank. 😆

Actually I doubt this satellite is still being used. There is a lot of space junk up there that was sent up decades ago and is now discontinued and abandoned.

It's only 4500sqft with a backyard that you can putt an MLB infield in. Mine on the other hand, not so much. $900k and it's yours!

We typically visit them just after Labor Day, but we don't see the Aurora that time of year. 😔
