I've been on a CPAP for seven or eight years. Medicare and my supplemental covers the sleep study, all the equipment and new supplies every three months. My medical supplier contacts me every 90 day so I can order my eligible supplies. The usual shipment is a new mask with two additional inserts, a new hose, and two new filters for the CPAP machine. If you regularly replace your supplies you shouldn't have any problems with cleanliness. I have a visit with my sleep doctor about once a quarter to go over my sleep data which is recorded by the CPAP machine. The humidifier on my old machine quit working recently so insurance paid for a new machine which is more technically advanced and much quilter than the original. It automatically send my sleep data my doctor through "cyber space". The hardest part was finding a mask that works for me. I went through several different masks until I found one that I liked. Fortunately the medical supplier allows me to change masks when I order my 90 day supplies. I ended up with a full face mask because my mouth opens when my sinuses are acting up.
Stick with it and it will do you a world of good. Another benefit is breathing filtered air all night.
